WELLBEING AND ENGAGEMENT

At Bemin Secondary College, we believe that the heart of education extends far beyond academic achievement. True success is found in the wellbeing and engagement of our students, nurturing not only their minds but their emotional and social health as well. Our comprehensive approach to wellbeing and engagement is designed to support every student's journey, creating a safe, inclusive, and vibrant learning environment where all can flourish.

Cultivating Wellbeing

A Foundation for Success

Wellbeing is the foundation upon which learning and personal growth are built. At Bemin Secondary College, we prioritise the mental, physical, and emotional health of our students through a variety of programs and initiatives:

  • Mental Health Support: Access to counselling services and mental health professionals ensures that students have the support they need, whenever they need it.

  • Physical Wellness: A wide range of sports, physical education programs, and health education promotes physical health and the importance of staying active.

  • Social-Emotional Learning: Our curriculum includes social-emotional learning components, teaching students valuable life skills such as resilience, empathy, and effective communication.

Enhancing Engagement

Connecting Through Community

Engagement is the key to unlocking our students’ potential. By fostering a sense of belonging and community, we encourage every student to actively participate in their learning journey:

  • Clubs and Activities: From the arts to science and technology, our diverse clubs and societies offer students the opportunity to explore their interests, develop new skills, and make lasting friendships.

  • Student Leadership: We believe in empowering our students with leadership opportunities that allow them to have a say in their education and make a positive impact in their school and community.

  • Parent and Community Involvement: Strong partnerships with parents and the local community enhance our educational environment, creating a supportive network for our students.

A Culture of Care

Every Student, Every Day

At Bemin Secondary College, our commitment to wellbeing and engagement is embedded in everything we do. A culture of care and respect permeates our school, where every student is valued and supported. Through personalised learning, targeted interventions, and a focus on building strong, positive relationships, we ensure that every student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

With a holistic approach to education, we prepare our students not just for academic success but for a fulfilling life.

Child Safety Officers

Child safety officers work with the school leadership team, teachers, students, volunteers and the school community to create a child-safe environment in the school.
